Nike Winged Victory of Samothrace
The goddess herself, Nike was honored with the original wing victory from an unknown sculptor back in 190 BC but was found in 1863. The original is proudly displayed in the Louvre in Paris France. This artist remake of the famous sculpture is a true beauty that will be around for a very, very long time. The only history they have of this sculpture, other than being a tribute to the goddess is that it was to represent a sea battle when it was created.
Our Winged Victory is 6ft tall from the bottom of the base to the top of her wings, 15 inches wide and 45″ inches deep, from the tip of the wings to the front of her. Made of heavy cast bronze created using the ancient art of Lost Wax casting that is labor intensive and completely hand-made.
